The neighboring San Diego town of La Jolla is surely one that must be visited if in the area. Although San Diego might be more internationally known for it’s nightlife, right next door is a higher class escape called La Jolla. On this trip we were able to check out the wonderful Grande Colonial and it’s one to surely not be missed.

{ THE HOTEL }

With coastal pacific views and located in downtown La Jolla where you can go shopping around the cute Prospect Street, one cannot find a reason not to stay here.The resort is also right across the street from the beach. In fact, just a 6 minute walk! The location is one of it’s great highlights.

{ ACCOMMODATIONS}

You have your choice of stunning Pacific views or the garden courtyard. The rooms are undergoing renovation at the moment and we were lucky to stay in one of their brand new model rooms! Once completed it’s going to be stellar. Each room is equipped with high speed wi-fi, HD TVs, coffee makers, goose down comforters, comfy mattresses and much more. You can get a more detailed breakdown of their various rooms here.

{RESTAURANT}

The hotel’s Nine-Ten restaurant is definitely not one to be missed. Locals know about it, and if you’re already staying at the hotel, you definitely don’t have an excuse not to try it. It was absolutely AH-MAY-ZING!! It’s sophisticated but not stuffy, and the food is curated by award-winning Chef Jason Knibb! They have a wonderful farm to table concept and everything we had was absolutely delicious. It felt as though we were eating at a Michelin rated restaurant.
