If you live in Los Angeles then you are use to the sunny and hot weather, but one thing that is not mentioned much is the lack of humidity. I find my skin is always dry and I need to constantly moisturize. My 7 month old son also has dry skin. I have to put specific lotion on him because every morning his chin and calves are dry and flakey!

My husband and I spoke about getting a humidifier that we could have on in the evenings in our room to perhaps help with the humidity. We have been using it every night and I can definitely tell a difference. The dryness on his calves have disappeared and the air doesn’t feel so dry!

What a humidifier does is basically bring back the moisture in the air so that it feels soothing and comfortable again. Keep in mind some tips when using your humidifier:

  1. Check the humidity levels. Keep at 50% or less. You don’t want too much of something either!
  2. Place the humidifier correctly
  3. Clean the humidifier regularly
  4. Keep up regular maintenance
  5. Use distilled or filtered water

The humidifier that we got was by Crane. You have to check out their website because they have the CUTEST humidifiers. You can get them in the form of a sheep, frog, elephant, ladybug, duck, pig, etc. They are so creative with their designs and colors and you are surely to find something to fit your nursery! We also have the travel humidifier, which has come in really handy since we are a travel family and always on the go.
